Foxcroft Academy catcher Brooks Law has been selected to play in both the Maine-New Hampshire Senior All-Star Game (at Holman Stadium in Nashua, NH, on June 22 at noon) and the Maine Senior Class A/B All-Star Game (at Husson University on June 26 at 6:30 pm). A three-year starter, Law capped a brilliant career with an outstanding senior season, batting .400 with six doubles, one HR, and 24 RBI, allowing opponents to steal just 15 bases in 27 attempts (whereas Pony runners were 94-99), and striking out 15 hitters in 12 solid innings on the mound.
For the Foxcroft softball team, sophomore shortstop Grace Bickford, sophomore third baseman Alli Bourget, and freshman pitcher/outfielder Jenna Clukey have all been chosen to play in the Maine Freshman/Sophomore Underclassmen All-Star Game, which will be held at St. Joseph’s College on June 23 at 2:30 pm. Bickford concluded a monster regular season with a .473 batting average, five doubles, three triples, two home runs, 14 RBI, and 19 runs scored. Clukey was a workhorse on the mound (8-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 95 innings) and hit .403 with six RBI and 13 runs. Bourget hit .397, scored 16 runs, and paced the team with 16 stolen bases.
On a final note, junior baseball player Abe Simpson would have played in the Maine Underclassman All-Star Game (at the University of Southern Maine on June 24 at 1 pm) had he not been injured prior to the postseason. Simpson went 6-1 on the mound with a 1.78 ERA while batting .388 with four doubles, a triple, and 15 stolen bases.
